The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Switzerland wishes to inform that the announcement by the Department of Immigration and Emigration of Sri Lanka dated 13 October 2025 regarding mandatory requirement for Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for all those visiting Sri Lanka for short-stay (tourism and business) has been revoked with immediate effect until further notice.

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Switzerland wishes to inform that applications for new Sri Lankan passports or for renewal of the current/expired passports will only be accepted in person at the Consulate General.
The applications received via Post will not be entertained. Therefore, the Consulate General requests Sri Lankan nationals living in Switzerland to obtain an appointment online to submit their applications in-person.
The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Switzerland will introduce a dedicated email address with effect from 01 November 2025 with a view to providing wider access, enhanced and more efficient service to Sri Lankans in Switzerland.
The Consulate General invites the Sri Lankan community in Switzerland to refer to the Consulate webpage at: http://www.lankamission.org where all information relevant to consular services are provided.
