COLOMBO: VIGILANCE OF A PASSENGER and timely action of a bus conductor saved many lives from an explosion that took place inside a CTB (Central Transport Board) bus near the Horton roundabout in COLOMBO-07 this afternoon (16) around 1.50 p.m.
In the meantime, Police, on being informed of the recovery of the suspected parcel, reached the scene and took every possible step to minimize the damage that could course in an explosion.
After about ten minutes, the parcel exploded causing extensive damages to the bus.
A car attempting to pass the location at the time of the explosion was also damaged. Police and Security Forces commenced investigations.
