Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake is confident that the devastation of the LTTE terrorist leader is very near in the face of military operations. He pointed out that the security forces will not hesitate to penalise Velupillai Prabhakaran.
The Prime Minister said the scourge of terrorism should be eliminated for the development of the country. Completely wiping out terrorism which had plagued the country for over 25 years is a major victory. He emphasised that they will not go for talks until terrorism is completely wiped out from the country. There should be an end to terrorism. It had been a menace to the people. Therefore, the Prime Minister observed that it is the duty of the civilians to consolidate this responsibility through their mandate on the 23rd, strengthening the war heroes.
The Prime Minister was addressing a meeting at the public esplanade in Kekirawa to consolidate the victory of the Freedom Alliance. Speaking further, the Prime Minister urged the people of the North Central Province to seize the opportunity afforded at the Provincial polls on the 23rd, to extend their gratitude to the gallant soldiers, who are engaged in operations to liberate the entire country from the LTTE terrorists.
Minister Rohana Dissanayake, Eastern Provincial Minister M.L.A.M. Hisbullah, Presidential Advisor A.H.M. Azwer and North Central Chief Ministerial candidate Berty Premalal Dissanayake also addressed the gathering.
