Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao called on Minister of External Affairs Prof. G L Peiris on Wednesday (02nd September).
Several bi-lateral issues such Indian assistance for development work in the North and matters relating to investment, trade and foreign relations were discussed at this meeting.
Foreign Secretary Rao was accompanied by Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Ashok K. Kantha, Sri Lanka High Commissioner in India Prasad Kariyawasam and senior officials of the Ministries of External Affairs of Sri Lanka and India .
