(Colombo-Lankapuvath-October 09) – The University of Bolton in the United Kingdom (UK) launched a scholarship program under the name of Sri Lanka's star spinner and world's leading wicket taker, Muttiah Muralitharan for six Sri Lankan students.
A ceremony was held at the JAIC Hilton residencies yesterday (08) evening to launch the scholarship program with the participation of the representatives from the University of Bolton.
The scholarships, which will be recognized as the "Muttiah Muralitharan University of Bolton Scholarships", are specifically for students from Sri Lanka.
Murali has strong links with the Bolton area having played cricket for Lancashire between 1999 and 2007.
