Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Public Security, Law and Order Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa met with Australians National Security Advisor and a team of High Level Officials at the Ministry premises this evening (May 14). This meeting was specially held in order to discuss about the problem of people smuggling. H.E Ms. Kathy Klugman Australian High Commissioner organized the meeting on behalf of the visiting dignitaries.
Present at the meeting between the Australian National Security Advisor Mr Duncan Lewis and the Secretary of the Ministry of Defence were Mr. Steven James Robinson, Senior Advisor Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr. Michael Potts First Assistant Secretary, International Organizations and Legal Division, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Australian Ambassador for People Smuggling Issues. Also present were Rear Admiral Allan Du Toit, Amran Commander Border Protection, Mr. Andrew Colvin, Deputy Commissioner National Security Australian Federal Police, Mr. Robert Hoitink, Assistant Secretary Border Intelligence Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Ms. Marissa Wight, Executive Officer to the National Security Advisor Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
