Over 375 civilians reach Sri Lankan troops

(Colombo, Lankapuvath) Another 378 civilians have reached the Sri Lankan troops deployed in the Mullaittivu area yesterday (10). 

According to the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS), the civilians who sought refuge with the troops were from the non liberated areas of Ampalavanpokkanai in Mullaittivu and Vethalakerni in Jaffna.

Women and children have been among those who fled the LTTE clutches and reached the SL troops.


Subsequently troops have transferred the civilians to the established welfare centres said the MCNS.  

Meanwhile it is reported that nearly 40,000 civilians have fled the LTTE clutches and reported to the SL troops in the government controlled area.
