The President of the UNGA was in Geneva to address the High Level segment of the UN Human Rights Council. Miguel D’Escoto, a Roman Catholic priest and liberation theologian, was the Foreign Minister of the Sandinista government after the Nicaraguan Revolution of 1979 and remains a staunch supporter of President Daniel Ortega’s FSLN.
