Aiming to give a boost to the Tourism industry of the country, Sri Lanka is to open a special museum in the cultural hotspot of Sigiriya by next April, the Cultural Affairs Ministry announced.
According to the Ministry, the construction work of the museum in Sigiriya is currently underway with the funding from the Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA) under the Culture - Oriented Tourism in Sigiriya project.
The estimated expenditure for the project is Rs. 48 millions. Sri Lankan government also hopes to develop some areas around the historical site under the project.
