- Mohan Peiris sworn in as Attorney General

Presidents Counsel Mohan Peiris was sworn in as the Attorney General by President Mahinda Rajapakse at Temple Trees today (18^th) morning, states presidential media unit. Mr. Mohan Peiris, who replaces Mr. C.R. de Silva who retired, is the 25^th Attorney General of the country.

Mr. Peiris has been a lawyer since 1975 and joined the Attorney General’s Office in 1981 as a state advocate. He has served there as a senior advocate from 1993 to 1995.

President’s Secretary Lalith Weerathunga was present at the oath taking.
