THE SEVA VANITHA BRANCH of the Ministry of Defence, in what termed as another humanitarian project initiated by the MoD offered interest-free loans for fifty more Ranaviru families whose spouses were either killed in action or turned disable.

This special scheme, meant to help such families build their own houses has selected fifty families from tri-services and the Police under this project which was inaugurated last Thursday (27) at the MoD premises. Accordingly, each family received Rs. 300,000/= towards this worthy cause from Mrs Ioma Rajapaksa, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch MoD during a brief function.

Secretary Defence Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Mrs. Anoma Fonseka President Seva Vanitha Army Branch also joined the award of loan.

Senior officers of the tri-services and the Police attended the occasion.
