Minister Bogollagama leaves for UK to hold discussion and meetings PDF Print E-mail

 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, Rohitha Bogollagama, would be leaving for the UK to hold discussions and meetings on issues of bilateral importance with his counterpart and other political dignitaries. Minister Bogollagama is scheduled to meet the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Mr. David Miliband, Secretary of state of Wales, Mr. Paul Murphy, Shadow Foreign Secretary, Mr. William Haugue and All Party Parliamentary Group on Sri Lanka which is chaired by Lord Naseby, among others, during his brief visit to the UK.

Minister Bogollagama would also have a meeting with the newly elected Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Mr. Kamalesh Sharma, who would be assuming his new office of the Secretary General on 1st April, 2008. The Minister would meet with the Commonwealth Heads of Mission at the High Commission of Sri Lanka in London in order to connect with Sri Lanka’s action plan with different Agencies of the Commonwealth. Minister Bogollagama would also take this opportunity to apprise of the Sri Lanka’s candidacy for the forthcoming Human Right Council (HRC) elections.

The Minister is scheduled to address the prestigious International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) based in London on the Subject of “Post Conflict Development: Efforts of a Democracy”. Further, he would meet and interact with a wide spectrum of Sri Lanka diaspora in the UK.
