| New Batch of CSOs Joins CSD |

A BATCH OF one hundred and ninety nine Civil Security Officers (CSO) who completed their training passed out on 28 March 2008 at Parakramapura Army Camp in Vavuniya ground to take over security duties in respective areas.
Those youths were recruited from neighboring villages and trained under the supervision of Brigadier Mohan Jayawardana, Commander Area Headquarters Welioya. During his speech, to the officers Brigadier Mohan Jayawardena, who took the salute as Chief Guest, commended their decision to join the Civil Security Department to serve the country at a time country it requires more young and brave men in Defence Forces. He also reminded newly passed-out CSOs to give their best to defend the country’s territorial integrity and not to behave in a manner that tarnishes the image of the CSD and other Security Forces. Brig. Mohan Jayawardana paid his sincere gratitude to the parents, wives and next of kin of new CSOs for motivating them to join the CSD.
Members of Maha Sangha, representatives of Army and Police officers, Heads of government and private firms, senior citizens in the area and next of kin of CSOs were present on the occasion. |
