The President assured that the day is not very far when democratic rights granted to the civilians of the East, will be enjoyed by the innocent civilians of Killinochchi and Mullaitivu. He fervently appealed to soldiers who had gone on leave to return to their regiments at a time when the final victory in the war is nearing. He pointed out that they were not prepared to betray the dedications and victories of the war heroes achieved through supreme sacrifices by going for ceasefires. The operations will continue unabated until terrorism is uprooted from the motherland. He said the terrorists are talking of ceasefires when ITN’s Cameraman was injured in one of their attacks. Many parliamentrians addressed the public rally. It was organised by the North Central Chief Ministerial candidate Berty Premalal Dissanayake and the group of Freedom Alliance candidates.
