| Sri Lanka: President in key meetings before Summit |

President Mahinda Rajapaksa who arrived in London yesterday (June 8) for a special Commonwealth Summit will be meeting with Dato Sri Najib Tun Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister of Malaysia at 11.30 this morning (London time).
The President is also scheduled to meet David Cameron, MP (Conservative Party) and Leader of the Opposition at 3.30. The delegates will be officially welcomed by Prime Minister Gordon Brown of the host country at are scheduled to attend the first sessions of the Summit at the Cabinet Room, No 10, Downing Street, the official residence of the British Premier. The guests will be hosted to dinner by Shri Kamalesh Sharma, Secretary General of the Commonwealth at Marlborough House afterwards. The summit, which concludes on Tuesday, June 10, will focus on practical steps which Commonwealth member states can take to achieve reform and coherence of global institutions.
