Health care uplift for Jaffna people PDF Print E-mail

 Measures have been implemented to uplift the health care facilities of the people in the Jaffna district.


The Government has allocated a sum of 350 million rupees to meet the health needs in the district, The Governor of the Northern Province Major General G.A. Chandrasiri made this observation during an inspection tour on the ongoing construction work of the Chavakachchari Base Hospital.

According to these sources, the Jaffna Teaching hospital will be upgraded at a cost of 110 million rupees. The construction work of the new Administrative building and the Out Patient Department of the Chavakachcheri Base Hospital has now reached 80 % completion. 

Renovation work will cost. 31.2 million rupees withan  additional 9 million rupees for the water supplying project and another Rs.10 million for the construction of a new medical store for the hospital.
