President also instructed the Minister of Sports and Public Recreation Gamini Lokuge to make necessary arrangements to keep the two baby elephants with the she-elephant until they are big enough to separate from the parents.
These experts accompanied the media to view the two baby jumbos and later held media conference to straighten out facts. President Mahinda Rajapaksa today handed over the guardianship of the two baby elephants- Raju and Sindu by way of a scroll in keeping with traditions, now housed at the Temple of Tooth Relic to Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters.
