Sri Lanka to construct roads in the North before Madhu festival PDF Print E-mail

July 21, Colombo: Sri Lanka government has planned to reopen the main road heading to most sacred Madhu Shrine after completion of the construction work on the road by August 6th, Minister of Highways T. B. Ekanayaka said.

According to the Minister the construction work on the road to Madhu was carried out at a cost of Rs. 157 million.  

Additionally the government hopes to reconstruct the roads within the area of Madhu shrine before the pilgrimage begins.  

The annual festival of the Madhu Church will be held on August 14 and 15th, for the first time after eliminating the rebel control of the North completely.
