Sri Lanka are the Asian Netball Champions. They won the 7th Asian Netball Championship defeating Singapore in the finals by 77 to 48 points. 

Singapore were the previous champs. Our Representative giving information from Malaysia said the Sri Lankans from the start of play displayed their skills. She said many Sri Lankans domiciled in Malaysia were present at the Juwara International Stadium to support the Sri Lankan team.

Skipper Shashika giving her views on the victory opined that they expected a hard fight as Singapore were the champs on the previous occasion. But today, the Sri Lankans were outstanding and had a good fitness and a high morale as they were undefeated in all the games. She said the defence and attack lines were outstanding throughout the encounter. They were upbeat about defeating the previous champs with a big margin.  

Singapore, Thailand, the Maldives, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, Hong Kong, India and Pakistan were the other countries which participated in the tournament.
