Telecommunication Service Provider Tritel leads from the front in this effort, and they will install 2,000 solar powered coin operated CDMA telephone booths throughout the country, said the TRC in a press statement. It further revealed that Tritel is planning to invest Rs. 500 million under the first stage of this program.
Solar-powered phone booth system is the ideal power supply for the payphone booths located in the areas where power supply is either unavailable or inaccessible. It features such advantages as energy-saving, environmental protection and easy installation. The key components of such phone booth system include the solar panel, system controller, and maintenance-free battery.
