Health Ministry to develop hospitals in the North PDF Print E-mail

Measures have been taken to develop hospitals in the north to provide health facilities to the displaced civilians housed in welfare centres. Accordingly main hospitals in Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu and Puthukudiyiruppu areas will be developed with modern facilities in order to provide better health services to the families to be resettled in the areas shortly, Media Secretary to the Ministry of Health Care and Nutrition W.M.D Wanninayake told www.news.lk yesterday.

He pointed out that a proper programme was now in progress to provide health facilities to the civilians in the welfare centres and, health services will be available in the night as well. 

In addition hospitals in Vavuniya, Trincomalee, Dambulla, Kanthale and Kurunegala have been equipped with extra medical facilities in order to face an emergency situation. The hospital in Puvarasakulam has been allocated for infectious diseases such as chicken pox and measles, he added
