The rescue mission speeds up; Kariyalamullaivaikkal Tsunami Village liberated PDF Print E-mail

Sri Lankan soldiers now engaged in the final phase of their humanitarian operation in the Island's northeast have liberated the inhabitants of the Kariyalamullai Tsunami relief village.

  

According to the defence sources, over 1590 civilians held at hostage in this area by the LTTE have sought refuge with the 58 Division soldiers by the time of filing this report. The sources add that thousands more civilians are arriving at the rescue points manned by troops.
