Government’s best wishes go to Obama PDF Print E-mail

 The Sri Lankan government conveyed its best wishes to Barack Obama on his being sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Rohitha Bogollagama said at the Parliament, yesterday (20). 

"Best wishes of the people and the government of Sri Lanka go to the new US President Barack Obama whose inauguration is today," he said.

"I also make use of this occasion to thank the outgoing US President George Bush for his unstinted support to fight terrorism. The USA gave us a major support in our battle against terrorism during the Bush administration," Minister Bogollagama said.

He said, he, on behalf of the people and government of Sri Lanka, also wished the new US Secretary of State Mrs. Hillary Clinton all the best.
