Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Nisha Biswal appreciated President Maithripala Sirisena’s initiatives towards democracy, peace & reconciliation in this country.
She made these observations when She met with President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat today (25).
“The government’s initiatives towards democracy, peace & reconciliation are highly satisfactory to the international community,” she further said.
She extended best wishes on behalf of the U.S. Government and the United States Secretary of State , John Kerry to President Sirisena for conducting recently concluded Parliamentary Elections in a free and fair manner.
The United States today pledged to provide every possible support to Sri Lanka in its future development works as well as its endeavor to bring about peace & reconciliation throughout the country.
President Maithripala Sirisena has stated to the Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Nisha Biswal that his government desires to maintain cordial and fruitful relationship with the U.S.A while strengthening the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
