 Reigning Miss Germany 2008 Kim Valerie Voight and the first and second runners up of the pageant will be in Sri Lanka tomorrow with a television crew where they will travel around the country and air the programme in Germany to show the European countries that Sri Lanka is still a place for tourism.

 MANAMA: SriLankan Airlines is to expand its operations to Bahrain with six wide body aircraft per week, it has been revealed. The airline currently operates five flights a week between Colombo and Bahrain. |

 We are integrating our country to the world economy keeping our identity intact unless those who divested the national airline by embracing the new world economic order in toto, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa addressing the SriLankan Airlines employees at a ceremony on the occasion of taking over its management from Emirates Airline held at the Colombo International Airport today (3).

 The Peace Secretariat notes, with hopes that it will lead to greater regard in all respects for the victims, what seems to be a statement of Action Contre le Faim UK (which appears on Alertnet, attributed to Action Against Hunger – UK) on the most recent report issued by the Jaffna University Teachers for Human Rights about the killing of 17 aid worker in Mutur in August 2006. Their suggestion that material in the report should be used in investigation echoes a similar call by relevant agencies in government. |
