Air Chief Marshal Harry Goonetileke ndc, psc who served as the fifth commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force from November 1976 to April 1981, passed away peacefully this morning at his home at the age of 79. |

Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka yesterday told Parliament that even though LTTE terrorism silenced the voice of Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle, the Government will conduct its military operations to completely eradicate LTTE terrorism from the country. |

President Hu Jintao of the People’s Republic of China assured Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa that China will stand by Sri Lanka in its efforts to counter terrorism. This assurance was given when the two Presidents met at Yalong Bay Resort in the Hainan Province of China today(10 April).
