 : President Mahinda Rajapaksa meets injured War Heroes at Anuradhapura Hospital

His Excellency the President of Sri Lanka and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Mahinda Rajapaksa paid a visit to the military ward of the National Hospital Anuradhapura on Sunday (July27). During his visit, he spoke to the injured war heroes and exchanged sentiments with them. Also, he spoke with the relatives of the injured soldiers who were visiting their loved ones at the time and conveyed his sympathies to them.

Sri Lanka: Kankasanthurai cement factory to reopen soon PDF Print E-mail

 Moves are under-way to reopen the Kankasanthurai Cement factory as a step to cater to the local cement demand, Lanka Cement Limited Chairman Sisira Paranagama had revealed. He said a sustainable solution could be found for the prevailing cement shortage in the market and stable cement prices too could be maintained. He said nearly 3,000 job opportunities could be generated with the opening of the factory. He had further added that priority will be given to the unemployed youth in Jaffna in providing jobs.
