Wanni operation continues; 18 terrorists killed, over 30 injured PDF Print E-mail

 Security forces personnel engaged in counter terrorist offensive operation inching further towards LTTE areas inflicting damages to the enemy. The finalized military report received from the battlefront said that 18 terrorists were killed while 29 others suffered injuries in yesterday's (July 07) clashes. 6 more terrorists were reportedly either killed or wounded, the report further said.

In the first week of August 2006, 17 workers of the French Aid Agency Action Contre La Faim were killed in Muttur in the Trincomalee District of Sri Lanka. Turkish businessmen to invest in JVs in Sri Lanka PDF Print E-mail

 Turkish businessmen have expressed willingness to invest in joint industrial ventures in Sri Lanka. This assurance was given by them to Nawaz Rajabdeen, President, Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCISL), who led a business delegation to Istanbul on the invitation extended by the Confederation of Business and Industrialists of Turkey (TUSCON) recently.
